The international betting brand 1xBet has signed a sponsorship deal with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape cricket team. The new partner competes in the South African SA20 cricket tournament, whose fourth season started on 26 December 2025 and will run until 25 January 2026.

Media conglomerate Sun Group founded Sunrisers Eastern Cape. The team is based in Gqeberha and is the most successful squad in South Africa, having won the league in its first and second seasons and finished as runner-up in the most recent SA20 competition.

In the new season, experienced cricketers like Marco Jansen and Tristan Stubbs will play for the team. During the off-season, the team bought top newcomers Matthew Breetzke and Anrich Nortje at the auction for $ 350,000 and $285,000, respectively, to strengthen their performance for the new season.

In their first tournament clash, Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeated the Paarl team at their home ground by a huge margin of 137 runs, with newcomer Anrich Nortje named player of the match. Starting the tournament with a strong win and earning a bonus point, the team confirmed their status as favourites and their ambition to claim a record third title.
