Elvis Merzļikins is the new brand ambassador for OlyBet

OlyBet announces partnership with Latvian national ice hockey star Elvis Merzļikins, who becomes the newest brand ambassador of the sports entertainment brand. The significant partnership allows OlyBet to provide Latvian ice hockey fans unique opportunities to experience the sport.

Everyone knows that the iconic American singer Elvis Presley was an extraordinary entertainer, and Elvis Merzļikins takes after his fabled namesake. When he earned the first shutout of his NHL career in Las Vegas, he did so with thrilled fans chanting his name. Merzļikins was named after Elvis Presley, of whom his father was a great fan. People worldwide love the 30-year-old goalkeeper’s personality and style on ice and off it.

Merzļikins, who will represent the Latvian national team in the upcoming World Championships, is immensely popular in Latvia. Internationally, Elvis has played with the Latvian men’s team in five World Cups and five Junior World Cup competitions. In 2018, he claimed the honour of being named the Latvian Player of the Year. He is one of six Latvian goalies who has played in the NHL. He ranks second in saves made, following legendary Artūrs Irbe.

In the NHL, he debuted with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2019, where he plays today. His first NHL victory came on the 31st of December 2019, when Columbus beat Florida Panthers 4-1. Elvis saved 36 out of 37 shots. His first NHL shutout victory was on the 11th of January 2020, when Columbus beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0. At the end of the season, Merzļikins was named to the All-Rookie Team, the third member of the Blue Jackets to earn the honour.
