GEEK RETREAT, THE ENTERTAINMENT RETAILER, ROLLS OUT WORLD’S FIRST LIVE, NATIONWIDE POP CULTURE QUIZZES

Following a successful trial which has seen almost 500 players take part, Geek Retreat, the geek culture retailer, gaming café, community hub and events venue, is rolling out the world’s first live, interactive, nationwide quizzes across its stores.

Developed by quizmaster Ian Morris, the bi-weekly quizzes are a one of a kind, running the entire gamut of pop culture, from video games and Marvel through to Pokemon, and sci-fi and fantasy, and even things like science, maths and computing. The quizzes bring together players as individuals or teams from across the country to compete and scale the leaderboards, with players using their phone to play along, and six video games up for grabs as prizes in each quiz.

Ian Morris, Founder of Warp Point and brainchild behind the Geek Retreat quizzes, said: “The Geek Retreat trial has been a great success, so we’re a taking the quiz nationwide. Whatever your passion, whether you’re a Pokemon professor, a Star Trek scholar, or a wiz of the Wizarding World, this is a quiz designed to be enjoyed by all, with plenty of nerdy goodness.

The next quizzes are taking place on 20 November, 4 December and 18 December and cost £2 per player.
