The PGA Tour and its domestic broadcast partner NBC are launching a new second-screen betting show which will air on the Peacock streaming service during the US-based golf tour’s events.

The NBC Sports Edge BetCast, available only on Peacock’s premium tier, is being backed by PointsBet and will first feature alongside NBC broadcasts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open from 4th to 7th February at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.

The activation comes after PointsBet, an official betting operator of the PGA Tour, signed a US$500 million deal with NBC Sports last year.

The watchalong format show will feature analysts discussing potential bets using PointsBet odds across two and a half hours of each of four tournament rounds. The BetCast will primarily follow an exclusive featured group throughout the round each day.

NBC says BetCast will offer viewers data-rich companion graphics, odds on prop bets, as well as integration of tournament leaderboards and odds.

A BetCast host and two analysts will be on NBC’s Golf Channel Live studio set, with coverage also featuring a PointsBet oddsmaker at their trading desk.

“The NBC Sports Edge BetCast stream on Peacock Premium is another step forward for our sports betting strategy,” said Norb Gambuzza, PGA Tour senior vice president, media and gaming.

“As we continue to embrace sports betting, the tour will continue to innovate and find new ways to engage fans around the world.”
