The Penobscot Nation is a sovereign Indian Nation, whose headquarters are located on Indian Island, Maine. The Mi’kmaq Nation is a federally recognized tribe with 1,633 members in Aroostook County, Maine. The central village and governmental seat is known as the “Bon Aire Village” and is located in the town of Presque Isle.
